Urgent Mental Health Support

We understand that mental health challenges can happen at any time. That’s why we’re here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering urgent mental health support for people of all ages. Whether you’re struggling yourself or worried about someone you care about, you can count on us for compassionate care.

How to Get Help

If you or a loved one need urgent mental health support, simply call NHS Wales 111 and select Option 2. This free service connects you directly to our team of mental health professionals based in our health board. They’re ready to listen, provide support, or guide you to the right resources, day or night.

When to Call

Reach out to 111 Option 2 if:

  • You’re experiencing a mental health issue for the first time.
  • An existing mental health condition is getting worse.
  • Someone has self-harmed (but it’s not life-threatening) or is thinking about self-harm.

What to Expect

When you call, our trained team will:

  • Listen to your concerns with care and respect.
  • Offer advice or support to help you through a crisis.
  • Connect you to other services if needed, like local support groups or further care options.

Important Notes

  • If you’re already under the care of a mental health team and have a specific care plan, please follow the contact instructions in your plan.
  • If you’ve been given a Crisis Line number by a health professional, use that number first.
  • In life-threatening emergencies, please call 999 or go to the nearest Emergency Unit immediately.

Free and Accessible

The 111 Option 2 service is completely free to call from any mobile (even without credit) or landline. It’s available to everyone in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, ensuring you can get help when you need it most.
